Wrong terminology or nav

VertaFlow renames its records and reshapes its navigation around your vertical (your business type). If your jobs are showing as “matters,” your nav has menus you don’t use, or the dashboard feels built for the wrong industry, your vertical is set wrong.

You pick a vertical at onboarding. From there, the app’s nouns and nav follow it — your core work record might be a job, matter, shoot, reservation, or case depending on the vertical. See How verticals work and the Terminology reference.

Your account’s true vertical is shown in Settings → Workspace. Changing it for real isn’t a self-serve toggle — it reshapes your whole workspace — so contact support and we’ll switch it for you.

”But I was just previewing another industry”

Section titled “”But I was just previewing another industry””

Two things can make the app look like a different vertical without actually changing your account:

  • Agency skin switcher — agencies (and preview) can preview any of the five bases at Settings → Skins. That’s a local, browser-only preview. Reset it to drop back to your real vertical. See Skins / appearance.
  • A ?vertical= preview link from the internal vertical switcher (operator tool) overrides the theme for that view only.

If your terminology looks off, first check you’re not in a preview — reset the skin, then reload. If it’s still wrong, your real vertical needs changing (above).
