Upgrading & downgrading
You change plans from inside the app. There’s no separate billing site to log into — everything runs through Settings → Plan & billing and the Stripe customer portal.
Where plan controls live
Section titled “Where plan controls live”- Settings → Plan & billing (
/settings/billing) — your current plan, subscription status, renewal date, and your trial banner if you’re still in the 60-day trial. - Billing portal (
/billing) — the same view with the button that opens the Stripe customer portal, where the actual plan change, payment method, and invoices live.
Upgrade
Section titled “Upgrade”- Open Settings → Plan & billing.
- Click Open billing portal. VertaFlow hands you to the Stripe-hosted customer portal.
- In the portal, switch to the plan you want and confirm. Stripe prorates the change and updates your subscription.
- Back in VertaFlow, your plan and the features it unlocks update once the subscription syncs.
If you’re still on the trial and haven’t added a card, the billing page shows an Extend trial 30 more days FREE option instead — adding a card extends the clock to day 60 with no charge until then. See The 60-day trial & website-client perk.
Downgrade or cancel
Section titled “Downgrade or cancel”Downgrading and cancelling both happen in the same Stripe customer portal (Open billing portal). Drop to a lower plan or cancel outright there.
After a downgrade, features above your new plan lock again — you keep your data, but you can’t act on locked features until you upgrade back. Watch your caps: if a lower plan’s contact, site, or seat ceiling is below what you’re using, you’ll be over the cap and blocked from adding more until you’re back under it.
How upgrade prompts work
Section titled “How upgrade prompts work”Open a feature your plan doesn’t include and VertaFlow doesn’t hide it — it shows the feature behind a frosted glass panel with an upgrade card. The card names the lowest plan that unlocks that feature (“This feature is available on the Pro plan and above”) and links straight to billing. So you always know exactly which plan to move to for the thing you just tried to use.
