Skins / appearance

The skin switcher lets an agency preview VertaFlow in any of the five vertical bases — its terminology, navigation, dashboard, and theme — without owning a separate account for each. It’s a reseller tool: it changes what you see, never your clients’ data.

It lives at Settings → Skins.

The Skins page only appears when one of these is true:

  • You’re on the preview environment, or
  • Your account’s real vertical is Agency.

A real restaurant, retail, or other production customer can’t switch skins — they always see their own vertical. (If you land on /settings/skins without access, you’re sent back to Settings → Workspace.) The Skins item also only shows in the settings nav when you’re allowed to switch.

You can preview these bases:

SkinFeels like
AgencyPipeline, deals, client sites — HubSpot-style
Service ProJobs, dispatch, on-site pay — Jobber-style
RestaurantFloor, reservations, covers — SevenRooms-style
RetailProducts, orders, stock — Lightspeed-style
WellnessAppointments, rebooking — Mindbody-style
  1. Open Settings → Skins.
  2. The banner at the top shows your real account vertical and, if you’re previewing, which skin is currently active.
  3. Click any skin card. Your account’s real vertical is tagged “Your account”, and the active one shows ”✓ previewing.”
  4. The app reloads and re-renders the whole shell in that skin — sidebar, dashboard tiles, and every noun.

When you’re previewing a skin other than your own, a ”↺ Reset to your real skin” link appears below the cards. Click it to drop back to your account’s actual vertical.

What’s actually changing (and what isn’t)

Section titled “What’s actually changing (and what isn’t)”

Switching a skin sets a single first-party preview cookie in your browser and reloads. The server then renders the app in that skin for your session.

  • Your data is untouched. Clients, deals, invoices, and everything else stay exactly as they are. Only the labels, nav, dashboard, and theme you see change.
  • It’s local to your browser. Other users on the account — and your clients — see their own skin. The preview clears when you reset it (and expires on its own after a day).
  • It’s not how you change your real vertical. To actually change your account’s business type, see Wrong terminology or nav.
