Stripe payments & platform fee

VertaFlow lets you collect payments from your customers — invoice payment links, contract payments, checkout — straight into your Stripe account. This runs through Stripe Connect: the money lands in your account, and VertaFlow’s only cut is a small platform fee that depends on your plan.

To send payment links or collect any payment, connect Stripe first:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations (/settings/integrations).
  2. Connect / onboard your Stripe account. Finish Stripe’s onboarding so the account is fully enabled for charges.

Until that’s done, payment actions are blocked with a clear message. For example, generating an invoice payment link before Stripe is connected returns “Connect a Stripe account in Settings → Integrations to send payment links.” See Invoices for the send-with-payment-link flow.

VertaFlow’s revenue model is the subscription, not your customers’ money. So:

On Free, a 1% application fee is taken on each payment your customer makes through VertaFlow (on top of Stripe’s own processing fees). On any paid plan the platform fee is 0% — you keep 100% of what you collect, because your subscription is the revenue.

The fee is applied only to payments you collect from your customers through your connected Stripe account (invoice payment links, contract/checkout payments). It is not charged on your own VertaFlow subscription, and it is only applied when it’s above zero — paid-plan charges carry no application fee at all.

On Free, a customer pays a $200 invoice through your payment link. The 1% platform fee is $2.00, taken via Stripe’s application fee. On Pro or any paid plan, the same $200 invoice carries $0 platform fee.

If you collect enough that 1% outpaces $19/mo, Pro pays for itself purely on the dropped fee — at $1,900/mo collected, the 1% fee equals Pro’s monthly price.

Stripe’s standard processing fees (the per-transaction card fees) always apply and are separate from VertaFlow’s platform fee — those go to Stripe, not VertaFlow, on every plan including paid ones.
